As a self-published author myself, I know how hard it is to proofread your own work. You’ll never find all of the typos, as you know exactly what the sentence is supposed to say, and your brain skips past the errors automatically. I think a certain degree of errors are expected in self-published works, because not all of us can afford to pay a high-end proofreader, or two, to look over our books. But, you should never hit the publish button without having at least one person read through it. Continue reading “Proofreading Services for Indie Authors”
So, it’s day 39 in the challenge I set for myself to write 50,000 words in 50 days, and so far I’m doing really well. There was a point a few days ago where I had no idea what I was going to write next, and I very nearly gave up. However, I pushed through, and here I am on day 39 with 39,160 words written, and I haven’t even done any writing yet today!
I’ve written the final chapter already, though I know a lot of it is going to change when I start on draft 2. Now all I need to write is the battle scene at the end. Continue reading “50,000 Words in 50 Days – Update 2”
It’s day 19 of my writing challenge, as I write this, and I’m glad to say that everything is going well so far.
As you can see from the picture on the left, by Day 17 I was already at 18,376 words. That’s 1,376 words ahead of schedule, so I gave myself the day off on day 18.
I am surprised at how easy I’ve been finding this so far. It took me a whole year of procrastination to get round to writing this book, and now that I’ve got the ball rolling, I don’t know what took me so long. Continue reading “50,000 Words in 50 Days – Update 1”
My author friend Debbie has an awesome new book coming out in March, and she’d like to share the fabulous new cover with you! The cover was designed by Rachel Bostwick, who also designed the cover for my second book ‘Mourning Memories‘ – she’s awesome!
The below was written by Debbie Manber Kupfer.
It’s here and it’s beautiful! The long awaited cover of Umbrae (The P.A.W.S. Saga, Part 3) created by the ever awesome Rachel Bostwick. Continue reading “Umbrae by Debbie Manber Kupfer – Cover Reveal”
Happy New Year everyone! May 2017 be a great year for you all. I have many plans for this year, and I’m going to let you know about one of them right now.
Book 3 in the Liliana trilogy has been playing on my mind for a whole year now, and I need to get it finished before I can start on all the other writing projects I’ve got floating round my head. So, my plan for the first 50 days of 2017, is to write 1,000 words per day. Continue reading “50,000 Words in 50 Days – Writing Book 3”
If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you will know that I really struggled with writing book 2 in the ‘Liliana Trilogy’ and I was uncertain if it would ever be finished! But, nearly two years after I started writing it, I can proudly say that it is now available to buy as an eBook!
Here’s the links: Amazon UK – Amazon US – Amazon CA
It’s available worldwide, though, so don’t worry if your country hasn’t been linked! Continue reading “Mourning Memories is Live!”
A-Z Blog Challenge 2016 – Unicorns
I’m cheating again. The only character that I could think of that began with the letter ‘U’ was Professor Umbridge from Harry Potter, and I can’t say I’m a massive fan of hers. Actually, I would happily whack her round the face with a brick. Continue reading “U – Unicorns”
A-Z Blog Challenge 2016 – Samwise Gamgee
Of all the amazing characters in ‘The Lord of the Rings’, Samwise is one of my favourites. I even prefer him over Frodo and he’s the main character! I may have already said this when I wrote about Gimli, but if you haven’t watched these films yet, I would recommend it. Just make sure you give yourself a few days. Continue reading “S – Samwise Gamgee”
A-Z Blog Challenge 2016 – Liliana Frye
OK, I’ll put my hands up, Liliana is my own creation and I couldn’t exactly go through this whole challenge without mentioning at least one of my characters could I? (Just pretend she’s not my creation for a few minutes!) Liliana is the protagonist in ‘Reality is in a Dream‘ and the soon to be released ‘Mourning Memories‘.
Liliana is 16 – sort of – and living in a very boring world. Her parents are stupidly over-protective and she doesn’t have many friends. Her school life is based very much on my experience at school. Her two friends, Melanie and Carey are over-exaggerations of two people I used to call ‘friends’. The only friend that she can truly rely on is the new kid Justin. Continue reading “L – Liliana Frye”
