Fight for This Love by The Wanted – 65 Plays – 47 ‘F’ Songs in Total
I probably first heard The Wanted’s cover of Fight for This Love in late 2010, early 2011. I forget when it was exactly, as they covered it so many times for different radio stations, or for their own YouTube Channel. There’s a chance I even listened to them sing this live on the radio. As far as I’m aware, this version of Fight for This Love was never released as a single, so yes, I did take the audio from YouTube. Sorry! I just want to point out that I’d never take a song from YouTube if it was actually possible for me to purchase it. Hence why I have millions of versions of certain songs on my iPod.
I’m not particularly a massive fan of Cheryl Cole’s original of Fight for This Love, but when I heard The Wanted sing it, I loved it. They made it sound so different and soulful. You almost believe the words that they’re singing. Again, I am probably completely biased and blinded by my love of this band. I would love to know what you think of The Wanted’s version, compared with Cheryl’s. You can find the video at the bottom of this post.
I don’t know where we’re heading
I’m willing and ready to go
We’ve been driving so fast
We just need to slow down
And just roll
I don’t think this song is lyrically that strong, especially compared with some of the other songs in this list, i.e. Down Goes Another One by McFly (post here). The lyrics above represent the point in the song that I think is performed well. As before, it’s Nathan Sykes’ voice that has attracted me in. His vocal range is ridiculous as is proven in Fight for This Love. How is it possible, for anyone that baby-faced, to sing notes that low? I won’t lie, on more than one occasion I’ve skipped the song back a bit just to hear Nathan’s solo again. And again. Also, if anyone talks over this part of the song, I get really angry on the inside. You all know that feeling, don’t deny it…
Falling in Love by McFly is fourth in the ‘F’ section with 33 plays. I really was expecting it to be a lot higher. It’s such a beautiful song from their fourth album, Radio:Active. Watch the lyric video here. I also really wanted The Final Countdown by Europe to be at the top of this list. It’s such a cheesy song, but who doesn’t love it? It’s one of those songs that you can’t help but walk to the beat of, no matter how much of an idiot you look. Here’s the video, not that you’ll need directing to it.
Until the next time,

A few fun facts: Of the 1,199 songs on my iPod – I know, feeble compared to some – there have been a total of 16,039 plays. This equates to an average of 13.4 plays per song. If each song is an average of 3 minutes long, this means that I have spent approximately 801.95 hours listening to the music on my iPod or 33.4 days. This doesn’t include the many times that I have watched and re-watched music videos or the time before the iPod. I can guarantee things would look a little different if I could get the data from my MP3 Player, or Windows Media Player days.
I can see why they didn’t release it as a single lol. The verses where they sang along where ok but the chorus was awful (sorry)

Haha! I know it’s a little dodgy, but I’m very biased towards The Wanted!

Another new song on me 🙂 Great tune.
Final Countdown – lol – I remember that when it was first in the charts 😉 The lyrics still make no sense, but I can still sing it.

I love The Final Countdown! I really wish it was at the top of the list. I’m definitely listening to that on the way home later!
